Four Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act practice investigations underway – feedback called for

Issue date:

The Chief Ombudsman has commenced four new self-initiated investigations into the official information practices of the public sector, the third set of investigations announced in the past eight months.

The investigations aim to establish whether the agencies have good practices when dealing with Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act requests.

The agencies involved are the the Far North District Council, Auckland Council, Greater Wellington Regional Council, and the Tasman District Council.

We’re keen to get public feedback – there is a survey for people who have recently requested information from one of the four agencies (i.e. within the last 6-12 months). The surveys are open until 28 January 2019 and the links can be found in the media release.
