Submission of the Ombudsman - OIA consultation July 2019

In March, the Ministry of Justice announced a public consultation on matters relating to the Official Information Act.

The Ministry of Justice asked 3 questions:

1. What are the key issues with the OIA?
2. Do you think these issues relate to the legislation or practice?
3. What reforms to the legislation do you think would make the biggest difference?

This document outlines the Chief Ombudsman's submission to the Ministry.
